What do we have to lose?

There are other areas of the world far ahead of the United States in the race to win the “Green Energy” game. Most of the European countries have been experimenting with alternative energy sources, one of which is Germany. This recent news article talks about their current energy crisis and the need to reintroduce traditional sources of energy : GERMANY TO RECONNECT FIRST COAL POWER PLANT TO ENERGY GRID

As a critical thinker in the game, should the United States be looking into their outcomes rather than blindly running behind them? Is the United States headed towards a path of similar mistakes and errors in the name of reaching “carbon free” / “carbon neutral” by a certain date to achieve political popularity? Another leader in the “green” energy game is China, who is creating legislation to ban wind and solar projects in certain areas in order to conserve agricultural lands. Read about the choice they are making to “prioritize crops over renewables” here: CHINA FACES TOUGH CHOICE MORE GREEN ENERGY OR FOOD

So, what do we do? Here is where we *insert * action by the United States Citizens and American Farmer.  If we do not stand up for our land and valuable resources, who will? Is renewable energy being well executed and thought out, or are we stumbling down the same path? Is the prime farmland being protected as though it is about to become extinct? In almost all other matters of zoning and legislation in counties around the United States, agricultural lands are zoned accordingly. The purpose of this sort of zoning is to “conserve and protect open land uses, foster orderly growth in rural areas and prevent urban agricultural land use conflicts” Is this what is actually being done? Or is the wind energy industry somehow being granted an exemption to this? It is time to stand up for the land that not only feeds us, but the world.
