Foreign investment in American cropland has nearly tripled in the past decade, according to USDA data.

The increase in foreign investments in farmland makes it difficult for young American farmers to compete and grow their business. With the average age of a US farmer being 57.5 years old we need as many young farmers involved as possible. Illinois has a higher percentage of foreign held acres to privately held land than each state it touches.
